MCA/GRAD Test Prep Classes

When a student does not pass one or more of their MCA tests (writing in grade 9, reading in grade 10, and math in grade 11), they are in jeopardy of not graduating on time.  GRAD test prep classes are offered in extended day classes on a schedule that fits with the re-testing schedule.  Students in extended day receive targeted instruction in skills that will prepare them to do better on the next re-test.

Seniors graduating in 2010 who have not yet passed the GRAD math test must either pass the test on the next re-test or show proof that they have taken the re-test twice and completed a remediation course.

There are six ways for students to prepare to re-test for all GRAD tests:

  • In- school during the school day
  • After school in extended day classes
  • Evening High School at Gordon Parks HS
  • Online classes (based at Gordon Parks HS)
  • Saturday classes and during winter and spring break (through Connections program)
  • Summer session classes at your home school

Students should talk to their school counselor to see what their best local options are for getting help to pass the GRAD tests.
